How buying a firearm online works. You order online, the retailer ships to a licensed dealer (FFL) near you, and you complete the federal background check and any state-required steps in person before taking possession. Transfer fees are set by the receiving dealer, not the retailer. A budget bolt gun under good glass outshoots a premium rifle under bad glass, reliably and by a wide margin. If you are buying a rifle, read the scope guide and the mount guide before you allocate the budget — and once it is together, verify the optic actually tracks rather than assuming it does.
